Cultural Sensitivity & Decolonization Program (Cultural)
Working with many First Nations Elders, knowledge holders, and surrounding First Nations Governments, our cultural program provides First Nations activities focused on different cultural backgrounds.
We will work with the cultural calendar of harvesting, special events, and also hold presentations. The cultural calendar will focus on each month of the year and honor each cultural background (i.e. Hobiyee, National Indigenous Day, harvesting times of food and materials, etc.).
We will hold presentations of each culture, through storytelling, mini-workshops, on all First Nations (i.e. Tsimshian, Gitxsan, Tahltan, Haida, Nisga’a, Wet’suwet’en, Haisla, Metis, etc.).
Look out for announcements of cultural activities – cedar harvesting, salmon harvesting, cedar weaving, beading, regalia making, drum making, singing and dancing, moccasin making, moose harvesting, sweat lodge, healing circle, storytelling, etc.
