Kermode in the Community
Each year Kermode Friendship Society actively coordinates, participates in or hosts events.
National Aboriginal Day
Each year on June 21st, Canadians from all walks of life are invited to participate in the many National Aboriginal Day events that will be taking place from coast to coast to coast. Please join us, as we celebrate being Aboriginal.
Community Christmas Dinners
Each year during December, Kermode Friendship Society and Friends get together to host a Christmas Dinner for the community. Our friends join us by donating time or goods to host this much anticipated event. Please watch for announcements from Kermode Friendship Society for date, time and location.
National Addictions Awareness Week
While most people with substance addictions aren’t celebrated, their stories can be a source of inspiration and strength to others. Kermode takes this opportunity to raise awareness to community members about the harms associated with addiction.
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Day
Every year on September 9th, International FASD Awareness Day is observed. Proclamations are issued in countries, states, provinces, and towns all around the world. Bells are rung at 9:09 a.m. in every time zone from New Zealand to Alaska. People all around the world gather for events to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking, during pregnancy and the plight of individuals and families who struggle with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). In Terrace, Kermode hosts this annual event each year, starting with a delicious pancake breakfast leading to informative and powerful seminars throughout the day.
Kermode Friendship Society enjoys supporting and participating in other community events in Terrace and surrounding area.
We’re happy to support our brother and sister organizations’ community initiatives.
Please check our calendar daily and watch for upcoming announcements.
